Bon Soo Art Show?

I heard there an art show with a call for entries, but I can't find anything on the Bon Soo site. Anybody have any information on this?

I have some stuff ready to show, 11x14" darkroom prints and I have the frames for them so I don't see why not. Everybody on this board should show something seeing as we'll probably never get around to organizing the group show we've talked about

I will have to consult the G-man to figure out what I ought to submit. He's a better editor than I am.

That would be awesome if you entered too. Anybody else?

My biggest worry is frames. I don't have any at the moment and I'm not sure if I can get some before the Jan 23rd deadline.

You haven't gotten replacements from Vistek? Did you just get your money back?

Hmm possibly. I just don't have anything cool to enter unless I pull something up from Egypt - everything I've been shooting lately has been people for people.

I've been watching out for this and couldn't find the info!! I entered last year and I'm hoping to put something in again this year. I guess I'd better get to work!

I sent back the broken frames over two weeks ago but the replacements haven't come in yet.

The replacement frames are going to be for gifts. I will need to order some more for the exhibition but I don't want to do that until the replacement frames arrive (without damage).

This exhibition is for all kinds of art, painting, photography, sculpture, etc. There is no requirements... it's up to you.

I have one piece chosen but I think my afternoon in the darkroom tomorrow will be spent on making a second print. I have no idea what I'm going to do yet.

I don't have the films of my old stuff I would like enlarged for this... :-( We'll see what we can come up with

So....here's a silly question.

When putting your signiture on/in a print, what year do you put?! The year the picture was taken or the year that you actually printed the picture??

It is up to you. As long as you're consistent. Some photographers incorporate the date that the photo was taken into the title and then put the date the photograph was printed in the back along with their signature. Some galleries prefer a signature on the front of the photograph.

I'm planning on signing and titling on the back. I don't think I'll date it, maybe with an '09.

This is my first time having anything developed off this new camera and the shots are acutally from my first 2 outings with the camera......anyone have any idea what i'm looking at to get these into the gallery-Its also my first time trying to display my pics....totally a newbie lol

Welcome to the board. Are you trying to post pictures here to the online gallery or are you asking how to prepare your images to be hung in the Art Gallery for the Bon Soo show?

Both actually-I've gotten the ones for the bon soo show framed and am very happy with them, but not sure what to expect. Some instructions on how to post pics would be greatly appreciated I'd love some feed back on my work.
I didn't know that this forum was around, I've been trying to find some local people to chat and share with. Feed back is also appreciated.

You need to have the photos hosted somewhere. Some people use their own site, some use Flickr or Photobucket or SmugMug. Once they are hosted (let's say on Flickr, for example) you just have to find out the web address the photos are stored at and copy and paste that after hitting the photo icon above the reply window.

It'll be easier to give a step-by-step once you have decided where to host the photos. Glad to hear you're putting something in the show, as well.

I'm out simply because I had nothing to show - boo. Realized that I haven't really shot "fun things" in a bit.

You must have something. Just get an 8x10 and a frame and you're set.

I have frames and mattes and things but just nothing recent (this year). Seriously.
