Thursday Meet-up

Come on out this Thursday evening for some coffee and camera action. Exact time and location to be determined but 7-ish at the Steamy Bean is what I recommend.

Anybody else in?

I could possibly do this. All depends how I'm feeling. It'll be my last shift and I just arrived back from Vegas this morning and then had to work - basically a plane delay in Detroit killed any sleep I was planning on getting.

You should bring your 24mm Elmarit again... I just need a quick fix

Hopefully my new 24mm viewfinder will come in before Thursday.

Maybe I might make an appearance too... so that I get a chance to meet you guys! Plus, in the 2 and a half years I have been here, I have never been to the Steamy Bean... duh!

It would be great to get the new people out. What about Agawa Bob? Fernando? Do you have his contact info to get a hold of him?

Thursday I will up on King Mtn. repair/checking the snowshoe trails for their busy
weekend ahead. Trying to take Colin with me. Then off to Algounquin Park to prepare for my wife's art exhibition there this summer.

Check out Stokely Creek Lodge this weekend.(Snowshoe, ski, lunch, or dinner)

That was an incredibly decent meet. Good to see new people. I always love seeing Nando's bottomless bag of rangefinders. There were what? 3 or 4?

3... I don't carry that many. Just one usually. I brought them because of the Luigies. Next time I think I'll bring some of my photography books to share so that he conversation isn't so gear driven.

It was great meeting Andy and Bryan. I'm always happy to see Ken and Anthony.

Yeah I was just kidding. Half of the gear was there because I asked for it.

Photo books are always awesome.

It was definitely great meeting everyone tonight, and I'm glad to finally see what those rangefinders are all about in person. Pretty cool stuff.

I was flipping through AJ's shots on his camera and he barely shot anything... I think I went through 3 1/2 or 4 1/2 rolls.

So the digital shooter was being selective and the film shooter was snapping away like it was nobody's business

To be fair I was testing out Fernando's lenses, but still...

Okay seriously. Someone has to inform me on what day it actually is. As I could have sworn today was Thursday - even after seeing a post on FB about the Spades show being tonight I was thinking "What they are doing two shows". Argh. So next time, someone message me every day because I am slow and dumb.

Haha that's OK. We had 5 (an all-time record) and the Bean was pretty busy... not sure how many more we could have had. It was pretty loud in there too.

Perhaps a change in venue the next time? Arcadia was pretty quiet but dark too.

Yeah Arcadia is nice. It just worries me that they shut down for so many months, makes it hard to make plans in case they do it again.

I dunno, maybe they won't.

You will have more (& better) shots because of it though.

Fun time though. I'm starting to like the SB, but I won't be against trying a new meet-up place.

This meeting made me want to shoot film again REAL soon... So I really need to find my OM1... and see if the little battery still works for the lightmeter... eeeek!

It was great meeting you guys... I had fun, learned new things, and was quite impressed with the rangefinders...
