Re: Meet up??
VTML,
Sorry for suggestion Tuesday. I didn't remember that it was a bad day for you. It looks like that we won't be able to accommodate everybody no matter what day we pick.
The March Break starts on Friday. If anyboby wants to meet sometime next week, I can probably make the time.

Re: Meet up??
Meeting #2 is done. Present were Mike (aka mikef), Ken and myself. I wish that there were more people but it was a great experience nevertheless.
It was very nice meeting Mike. I already met Ken at meeting #1. We had interesting talks about photography. Some professional issues, street photography, what we feel from a photograph, the experience of photographing and the usual gear talk. Ken brought along a book featuring photographs from Life magazine. Great photographs. Of course, I pointed out that the majority of them were taken with a _ _ _ _ _. Mike brought an issue of Lenswork (the best photography magazine in the planet) featuring an interesting series of portraits. Next time I'll bring a book instead of or in addition to gear. Ken help me finish off a nagging roll in my MP by shooting the last 30 or so frames. We came up with two drinking games. I nearly had a panic attack when I thought I lost a lenscap. I also bored them with my pitiful whining about my current photography slump. If anything, it is this forum and meeting with other local photographers that will get me out of this rut. Thanks guys.

Re: Meet up??
Haha, admitting you have a problem is the first step, Nando.
I thought you were going to put Mike to sleep with rangefinder talk.
I must buy a Leica now, there's no two ways about it. Too bad I'm poor.

This came up in discussion:
The Genius of Photography: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsZO0gUghxA
Harlan Ellison - Pay the Writer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj5IV23g-fE
The latter has coarse language, but it's pertinent to any creative person trying to make money from their craft.

Re: Meet up??
Maybe I'll be able to make the next one -- it'd be good just to meet up with other photographers and talk different subjects even if I'm limited in a number of them :S

The Genius of Photography Episodes 3 and 4 features my favourite periods and photographers. The part with William Klein in Episode 4 is priceless.

Re: Meet up??
Thanks, it's an older picture that has been buried in my photostream because it only shows my 200 most recent. I should buy a pro account again and activate my old pics again but I can't be bothered.
