A few flower photos
A few photos of the flowers I gave to my wife for Valentines Day. Thought I'd change it up, and get something other than roses. They can also be viewed on my Flickr site

Re: A few flower photos
I like the lighting in the first photo. I am also a sucker for black and white photos.

Thanks Chako. Although the colours were nice and vibrant in the original, the lighting didn't stand out all that much. The lighting in the b&w version just popped.
Re: A few flower photos
Yah, these are nice. I would like to see the first one in colour just for comparison.

Yes, very nice light in the first one.

Hey guys, just want to jump in here and shamelessly promote the SSM room on Photophlow. I've been participating in critique rooms there lately and the site is perfect for realtime photo crits.
Re: A few flower photos
Kenneth: Here's the original colour version, pretty much right out of the camera, with the exception for a crop and slight sharpening. There's nothing really spectacular about it, which is why I tried it in b&w. Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.
Nando: Thanks. I wasn't sure what to expect when taking this photo... I was bored one evening and just tried placing my flash all over the place, just to learn and have some fun. I just recently got the SB-600, and am trying to get comfortable with firing it off-camera with Nikon's CLS.
Mike: I'll try to look into this Photophlow thing soon. There's too many sites, groups, forums etc., and I'm loosing track of them all...lol.

Beautiful photos. Awesome lighting.
I really can't make up my mind about a favorite. I like em all.

Re: A few flower photos
Here's a few more that I just recently took. I'm getting a better feel of the off-camera flash, and am liking the results. You can see more on my Flickr site, as well as viewing the photo's larger versions. Thanks for looking.
