I love the drummer too, especially the shadow of his left hand which isn't seen on-screen. I love the shadow on the gymnast as well.

Thanks guys. I nearly had a collision with the girl doing the cartwheel shortly after that shot.

I can scan a few more. The above three were my favourite that 'survived'. I used my M3 and 50mm DR Summicron for most of the shots I took and unfortunately Rome's screwed up the processing. I got streaks of light running down the entire length of the roll. It ruined most of the shots. It's been a rocky relationship lately but think that I'm done with them for good now even though they're so inexpensive. I know it was the processing for sure and not the M3.
I happen to shoot the lens cap at least once every roll.

It can be a useful exercise to sacrifice a frame for a lenscap shot especially when you're experimenting with a new developer, photolab or film. You can tell if the development time is too short if the lenscap shot isn't completely clear.

Nice shots Nando.
As much as I like the drummer, I just keep going back to the two under the umbrellas. Those hats and matching chairs are perfect.
Too bad about the processing of the others. That headlight shot is beautiful. I always enjoy seeing the photographers reflection. Makes me connect with the shooting and not just the shot.

You don't happen to have any from the Algoma U float. My wife was walking along side, handing out freezies.

What I have been doing is forgetting to change my framelines. I switched over to 35mm just to check it out and accidentally took probably 10 shots with the 50mm lens. Should be some interesting tight compositions At least I didn't use the 75mm.

Colin,
Thanks. On the first one, I should have positioned myself a bit more to the right and perhaps lower, I think. And I realized this at the time but with that float passing through, I didn't have enough time to move. If the float would have just stopped in that spot for a little while, I would have probably shot off about 5 or 6 frames but at the same time I like this type of pressure and spontaneity along with the rush of trying to get the shot during small window of opportunity. I saw them there - two different women (obviously close friends) but with similar hats, same chairs, almost the same umbrellas - they were like twins. Then the float came by and I just scrambled behind them and tried to get the words in the shot. Then just about 5-6 seconds later I hear my name being called out. It was a friend who was going to meet me down there to shoot. If he called my name out a bit earlier, I'd probably have missed that opportunity. I'm way too rusty and missed many opportunities on my own though.
Unfortunately, I did not take any photos of the Algoma U float. I'm not even sure if I saw it go by. For some time, I was trying to position myself to shoot an interesting looking group of men in biker-regalia lined up at the front of Reggie's. Unfortunately, there was a very dark shadow cast by the building and a good shot was never revealed to me. It probably went by at that time. I was also a bit dissappointed that the Shriners don't have a marching band anymore.
Ken,
I could see myself doing that a lot if I had a Bessa R/R2/R3/R4. I'd never had that happen since Leicas automatically bring up the correct framelines once a lens is mounted. My Bessa T uses, external viewfinders, as you know, and it is hard to mess up since you have to change vf's when you change lenses. The CV external viewfinders for 50mm and 75mm look identical save for the different sized framelines so I purposely bought the 50 VF in black and the 75 VF in chrome so I wouldn't mix them up.

Re: Some Rotaryfest photos...
Is this one of the interesting men in biker regalia?
These are both nice but the biker is my favorite. Just chilling out enjoying the parade, he looks like he's whistling. Do I ever have to get back into color neg.

The men in biker regalia donned the Lemmy-look.

Great shots. I especially like the drummer boy. You have a pretty good eye.
