Minox at Photokina
The other camera company from Wetzlar, Germany is set to unveil a digital version of its famous 8x11 sub-miniature camera at Photokina.
They've been teasing Minox fans with the following website:

I saw a photo of it for the first time today on the Retro Thing blog:

To be honest, I'm not that impressed by it, especially when compared to the beautifully engineered and crafted original cameras.

I realize that some may never have seen a Minox before in the flesh. Many people incorrectly think of the humongous and cheap Japanese Minox copies from the 1980's. Those copies were actually many times the size of the real thing. I found the following photo on flickr and it very well demonstrates how compact a genuine Minox really is.
