I'm eager to see how it compares to my Bessa-T when it comes to the touchy-feely aspects.

Hrm...the day has passed, you're right. It's looking like I'm not going to be able to show off my beautiful new gear until next week. It'll be worth the wait though

Looking good. I always like the "Penguin" or "Tuxedo" look a la HCB. (Black body with chrome lenses). How bad is that hood interfering with the VF?

Re: Let's see your gear
It interferes with the viewfinder as a whole but doesn't creep too much into the 50mm framelines.
Sent roll #1 off for processing (B&W) and roll #2 should be done in less than an hour (C-41 B&W with photoCD).

Re: Let's see your gear
This is what I'm playing with now, a 21mm lens with external viewfinder. I'm finding it easier to use than I thought.
Re: Let's see your gear
Are you using hyperfocal focusing at f8 like I suggested? If so, I think that you'll find it really quick to get a shot away - quicker than a typical autofocus camera. Just bring the VF to your eye and shoot.

Re: Let's see your gear
Yah, I've done it before but haven't had too much need yet for quick shooting. Been pretty slow and methodical with this one so far.
Get a roll back Wednesday so we'll see how it's going.
Got a roll of NeoPan 1600 back today and I am loving the grain. I also have a roll of TRI-X to come back.
After I am done the current roll of FP4 all my film is gone and I need to buy some more PanF 50 or NeoPan.

Here's my 1956 Leica IIIf Red-Scale/Self-Timer. The camera is made in Canada and I got the matching Canadian-made 50mm f/1.5 Summarit lens, which at the time was the fastest 50 that Leica offered. In this shot, a German 50mm f/3.5 Elmar is mounted - its a much more compact lens that collapses into the body. Makes for a very small camera.

That's cool Nando. I'm always surprised at the size of some of these RF's I see Ken with. Powerful little things, though, I suppose?
Also, I'm too excited to NOT mention this, I'll be making an addition to this thread later in the evening. Ken must know how excited I am, he knows what it is.

Let's all share this moment together!
What? Boxes?
What? Shiny boxes inside?
Yay!
Mamiya RB67 Pro-S body, Mamiya-Sekor C 90mm f/3.8, Mamiya-Sekor C 180mm f/4.5, 120 & 220 backs, waist level finder, prism finder (non-metered), Stroboframe, and a bunch of filters. 50mm lens still to be picked up.

Re: Let's see your gear
Congratulations. Looks very nice. Great to see yet another MF shooter. The 50mm and flash sync at all speeds will suit your style very well.

Re: Let's see your gear
Thanks guys.
I did some quick messing around when I first got it home to see how the flashes would sync up and I noticed some weird double-flashing going on (most noticeably at slower shutter speeds), I think I need to read up on how to have everything set when I'm using the Pocket Wizards.
I'm so jacked to get some film in this thing and see what it can do

Sweet camera. It works well to fend off would be assailants and to hammer tent pegs. You better start lifting weights. Ha Ha Ha
In all seriousness, It's a fantastic camera... congrats and have fun.

Re: Let's see your gear
You should feel it with the prism finder, Ken.
So I went tonight to pick up the 50mm and the guy also pitched in a box of (5) 220 rolls of Porta 160. I'm debating putting it into the 120 magazine and just wasting half of the roll (cheaper) or waiting to get the 220 magazine repaired and then taking advantage of the 20 exposures. I'm thinking I'll just put it through with the 120 holder, but whatevs.

Re: Let's see your gear
Anthony,
You cannot put 220 film in 120 backs. 120 film have paper backing while the 220 films do not. As a result 120 film with the film + paper, is thicker. The pressure plate in the backs to hold the film flat for the shot are made with this difference in thickness factored in. Even if the difference is a fraction of a mm, it will make a difference. Save that Portra.

Re: Let's see your gear
Hrm. I've read a lot of conflicting opinions while randomly searching forums and stuff online, but I'm inclined to believe you guys more than some randoms. Thanks for the advice to save it, though I think I might have a hard time finding a repair or buying a replacement

Re: Let's see your gear
Either way (C-41 Porta or B&W PANF) you have to send it away, don't you? Just blow through the PANF and let us know what you think of the camera.
Did you get the 50mm yet? That's going to be awesome.
