I woke up really early this morning, not on purpose, and after some fiddling decided to head to Beaver Falls and shoot it. I went, I saw, I captured. As I was coming back down the Searchmont highway I stopped at a few other waterfalls to shoot as well. On one, I couldn't look through the viewfinder to focus, so I did my best and as I half-pressed the shutter I saw the message "No CF Card".

Yes, I'm an idiot.

Oh yah, I've been there.

Now I keep a CF card in my wallet for just such an emergency.

D'oh. I've done it as well. Just around the house though. The thing that always gets me and I know it always gets me and you'd think I'd realize it is switching my ISO either up or down from my previous shoot.

ie: bar band shooting so I'm at 1600 then go out and doing portrait type things and what's with the grain

or

doing portrait type stuff in the 100-400 range and going to the bar to shoot and being like "why is it so freaking slow"

Fortunately I always keep my gear in my backpack, with an extra SD card and battery. So far I haven't had to deal with that issue (yet).

It's also good not to leave your camera on Manual while you've been drinking... or using your camera at all! LOL! I just got back from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and found all kinds of bizarre settings the day after. The worst one was finding my EV at -5.0??? No wonder nothing turned out Smile
