I can't say anything about HC-110 yet. HC-110 will be the next developer I'll be experimenting with. It is supposed to be close to D-76 in terms of developing and the resulting negatives. From what I've read, HC-110 yields slightly finer grain but slightly lower acutance and slightly less shadow detail. The main advantage for HC-110 for me is that it is in liquid form and is easier to mix.
