Greyhounds vs Whalers

Post by Kenneth Armstrong on Sat Sep 27, 2008 12:59 am

I'm feeling more than a little rusty, but here's some photos from tonight's Greyhounds game vs the Whalers.

Nice work Ken. This one and the body check are fantastic.
I'm not sure if your into it, but this one could use a bit of lightening in the face. It's one of those circumstances where you were limited by the conditions. (open up more, jersey blows out.) I personally would de-saturate yellow until the concrete in the foreground goes neutral.
That said, it's beautiful and doesn't NEED anything done. Looks like a poster really.

Thanks. I haven't hit my groove yet, that's for sure.

I do very little post-processing but I should probably start doing it more. I adjust colour, crop and sharpen... that's about it.

If this isn't "your groove" wow!
The shot is perfect, there's nothing that could have technically been done differently at the time of shooting. Tricky lighting situation.

Again, It's fine without any correction, this is just me being picky. I'm an arse like that.

You know what I mean... overall I wasn't in my groove. That's OK it's only the first game. I still haven't decided how much I will be doing this year, I'm skipping tonight's game.

And I want the criticism, no matter how harsh, as long as it's constructive. If I could go back I think I'd get a little closer and frame it to the right a bit. It was a good moment, Jordan Nolan turning back and asking if it was his turn.

I see you most of the time at the games and look forward to see some of the photos you managed to take. I really like the of Muzzin hitting Terry into the boards. It was a great hit to watch and looking at the photo you can get an idea of how hard it actually was.

Thanks. I miss so many hits that it feels good when I line one up and get the shot. I was shooting a game at center ice and there was a beautiful open-ice hit like 10 feet in front of me and I totally missed it. You always think about the shots you miss Sad

Great job Ken. I very much like the reflections off the wet concrete.
