Exceptional photographs from WWII, Italy 1944-1945
I ran into a Leica photographer on Flickr a few months back who scanned and posted exceptional photographs taken by his father during World War II while in Italy. His father served in the US Air Force as a photographer. His father used a Leica with 35mm and 50mm Elmar lenses along with a 73mm Hektor lens. The negatives were stored in a box and found in 2007. Like the lost Capa negatives, these photos makes a strong case for the use of film. Look how great they still are. Given the state of digital today, there is NO WAY that digital files will be able to last this long in storage no matter what type of digital medium they are stored in.
Here's the link. Please note that there are two photographs of Benito Mussolini brutally mangled corpse that you may not be comfortable viewing. Mussolini's body was stomped and beaten by the public to the point where he's unrecognizable.

Most definitely. Especially the photographs of Mussolini. I only mentioned Leica twice.
