Adobe CS

Post by bjotoole on Sun Sep 20, 2009 11:28 am

Hey everyone, just looking for a little help on this one. My mother-in-law has a valid license of Adobe Creative Suite (CS), but has lost her installation discs. She had tried calling Adobe 5 times about getting the media, but it wasn't until the final call that they said that the media was not longer available for download and they couldn't help her. So, I was just wondering if somebody here has this older version kicking around in their archives somewhere, and if so, wouldn't mind letting me make a copy of it. Making this a little more difficult is the fact that this is for a Mac computer.

So if somebody has this, or knows somebody that may have it, I would really appreciate it. I'd even be willing to through a few bucks your way for the help.

Thanks,
Bryan

I don't think I can help, but I will check.

If she buys the upgrade all she'd need is the product key.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ken, do you think you can get the upgrade version with so many new versions out? She has CS, but now they're at CS4. Can't hurt to check it out I guess, but I know she didn't really want to spend any more $.

I know you can jump versions in CS quite a bit and use your old keys - people I know have gone CS2 > CS4 etc. And some specifically don't upgrade to the middle products because of them coming out every year or two and the increase in price.

Your other option is to find a torrent and download it - you have a key and using your product key is still legit no matter how you obtain the software part of it - the key is basically what you paid for.

Thanks Curt. I'm going to look into the upgrade paths shortly. As for the actual CS software, I've already checked all my torrent sources, but nothing. I even had a buddy check out his usenet sources, and nothing there as well. Just thought I'd through the question out there, just in case somebody had the media kicking around somewhere.

Taking a quick look you can upgrade to CS4 from CS, CS2, CS3 so I'm assuming it's the same across the board. Prob try to find a lower version if you can. CS4 upgrade looks like $200 YIKES!
